The Chef Who Got Fed Up

Short Story (1,850 words)

Anton Brunot, a great epicure, has given up fine cuisine. He explains that he ran out of money and was forced to work as a cook, but disliked it. Instead he took to burglary. He would send theatre tickets to prosperous house-owners, then burgle their premises while they were out, cooking himself a fine meal at the same time. One day his plan misfires and the outcome destroys his appetite.
