Dr Kang is a passenger on the steamer Dragia and is asked to act as watchdog to a man called Graves, a diamond courier travelling on the same ship whose real name, he says, is Beckford. But is he telling the truth?

The eighth Dr Kang story, the second in the series "The return of Dr Kang".
