Twenty-four hours to his day

Short story (1,570 words)

A taxi driver's thoughts about his life, and a fatal outcome of his inattention

For a long time the only trace I could find of this story was the Norwegian translation, located for me by Geir Berge. I am grateful to Jamie Sturgeon for tracking down the original publication.

Daily Herald, 16 December, 1934.

Norwegian translation, "Hans siste spinn" (His last skid) appeared in Aftenposten, 11 January 1935.
